Addressing Sexual Violence on Campuses

On December 15, New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand joined a panel of activists and educators at FIT to discuss ways to stop sexual assault at colleges. “Too many rapes are taking place on campuses today, and not enough justice is being delivered,” Gillibrand said. “A lot of survivors don’t believe justice is possible.”

In response to recent federal and state guidelines, FIT has strengthened its sexual assault policy to provide for prompt, effective, fair, and impartial investigation and resolution of complaints of sexual violence. Also, faculty, staff, and students will participate in a new annual sexual assault prevention and response training program.
