Alicia Goodwin sold ten styles from her jewelry line, Lingua Nigra, to the Smithsonian Institution for the gift shop of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, opening this year in Washington, D.C. Working in brass, gold, and silver, she takes inspiration from nature and brings in texture by etching with acid or using a firing technique called reticulation.
