Florence Shin co-founded Covry Sunwear, competitively priced sunglasses that fit Asian faces and others with a lower nose bridge and higher cheekbones. She and a high-school friend launched the brand with a Kickstarter campaign after a lifetime of struggling to find sunglasses that didn’t slide down their faces. An “Asian fit” already existed in the market, but they engineered a more comfortable version. The response has been ecstatic, and many styles have sold out. “A lot of people said they never thought glasses were supposed to fit well,” she says.
