On the Cover: Fall 2014

Chris Rini, Fine Arts ’97, whose work is featured on our cover, makes pyrographic art using a wood-burning stylus and wood-stain markers. Most of his pieces depict pivotal scenes in the history of mixed martial arts, the fastest-growing sport in the world. But he also burns cityscapes, portraits, and abstract art, including this remarkable cityscape, based on a photo taken from the World Trade Center.
